Privacy Policy for ClearCase

Last updated: April 2026

ClearCase (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how ClearCase collects, uses, processes, and safeguards information when you use our application.

ClearCase is a file management application that allows users to manage images, videos, audio files, compressed archives, and other files stored on their device. It also provides storage usage statistics by file type and enables users to delete unnecessary files to free up storage space. To deliver these core features, ClearCase requires file management permissions.

All file scanning, analysis, and management operations are performed locally on your device. ClearCase does not collect, upload, or store your personal files or file contents on external servers.

1. Data We Collect

ClearCase does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or file contents.

The app may process the following limited data types:
• Device-level information (non-personal) such as app version, device model, operating system version, and anonymized crash logs
• Aggregated usage data (if enabled) for app stability and performance improvement
This data does not allow us to identify you personally.

2. Third-Party Platforms and Services

ClearCase may integrate limited third-party services strictly for app functionality, stability, and compliance purposes, including:
• Firebase (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics): used solely to identify crashes and technical errors
• Analytics platforms (if enabled): used to understand general app usage trends in an aggregated and anonymized manner
• Attribution platforms (if applicable): used to measure app install sources for marketing attribution
These third-party services may collect limited technical data as governed by their own privacy policies. ClearCase does not share personal files, file paths, or user-generated content with any third-party platform.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.

3. Legal Basis for Processing Data

We process data based on the following legal grounds:
• User consent, where applicable (e.g., optional analytics)
• Legitimate interests, such as maintaining app security, preventing fraud, and improving performance
• Legal obligations, when required to comply with applicable laws or regulations

4. Data Retention

Because ClearCase primarily operates locally, personal data retention is minimal.
• Technical and diagnostic data (if collected) is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill its purpose, typically no longer than 12 months
• Data may be deleted earlier if no longer required or upon user request
• File contents and file metadata are never stored externally and remain entirely on your device.

5. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
• Right to access: You may request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and obtain a copy of it
• Right to correction: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
• Right to deletion: You may request deletion of personal data we have collected about you
• Right to know if data is shared: You have the right to know whether your data has been shared with third parties
• Right to know if data is sold: ClearCase does not sell personal data; you may request confirmation of this
• Right to restrict or object: You may object to or restrict certain types of data processing
• Right to opt out of sharing or selling: You may disable analytics or attribution tracking through in-app settings or by contacting us
Requests can be submitted using the contact information provided below.

6. How to Opt Out of Data Sharing or Selling

ClearCase does not sell personal data.
If analytics or attribution services are enabled, you may:
• Disable them via in-app privacy settings (if available), or
• Contact us directly to request opt-out
We honor all valid opt-out requests in accordance with applicable laws.

7. Complaints to Regulatory Authorities

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection or supervisory authority. We encourage you to contact us first so we can address your concerns promptly.

8. Data Protection Officer (DPO)

We have appointed a Data Protection Officer to oversee compliance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.
Data Protection Officer:
Name: Daniel Whitmore

9. Security Measures

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect any data processed by the app. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. End User License Agreement (EULA)

By installing or using ClearCase, you agree to our End User License Agreement (EULA). The EULA governs your rights to use the app, license limitations, intellectual property rights, and acceptable use policies. This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with the EULA, and both documents together form the agreement between you and ClearCase.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the app or on our official distribution page. Continued use of ClearCase after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
